MCO START-UP MINI FESTIVAL: SIX GROUNDBREAKING START-UPS TAKE THE STAGE ON 28 MAY

Odense, May 28th 2025 from 10.00–12.30 · JFM Medielab, Banegårdspladsen 1

Media City Odense (MCO) invites you to a festival-style members’ meeting where six trail-blazing start-ups shine a spotlight on today’s hottest media technologies. Doors open for 2.5 hours of concise pitches, networking and plenty of inspiration—all under the banner MCO Start-up Mini Festival.

Over two focused hours, participants will meet six companies, each addressing a concrete challenge in the media and content sector.

On the day you’ll see and hear presentations from Sasha, Pixop, FreshTracks, MediaCatch, Connie, and Duckling.

Sasha ApS

Sasha tackles image abuse and identity theft in an online world awash with AI-generated content and eroding copyright protection. A patented, invisible “fingerprint” embedded in digital images lets the company trace copies across platforms—even after filenames, metadata or resolution have been altered. Photographers, media houses and brands finally gain an effective shield against unauthorised use.

Pixop

Pixop lets you elevate older HD SDR footage to 4K or HDR-like quality without rebuilding your post-production stack. Its cloud-based SaaS platform uses advanced AI models to remove noise, restore detail and dynamic range, and deliver files that drop straight into existing editing or playout workflows. TV stations, sports houses and streamers benefit from lower CAPEX, faster time-to-market and the chance to monetise archive “gold” that would otherwise gather dust or demand costly restoration.

FreshTracks

FreshTracks is revolutionising the creative hunt for the perfect sound—and now video, too. Where music and stock libraries once required hours of manual tag-based searching, FreshTracks uses AI-powered semantic search that understands intent, mood and tempo, cutting search time by up to 90 %. At the event they’ll unveil a world first: a video-search feature that serves up relevant clips the moment you describe a scene (“sunrise over mountains, aerial shot, smooth camera movement”).

Connie

Connie digitises contracts and consents for film, photo and TV producers, making “GDPR-compliance by default” a reality. The platform consolidates every agreement in one secure European cloud—fully eIDAS-compatible with all data hosted inside the EU. Automatic reminders, role-based access and offline-friendly e-signatures let production teams collect signatures in the field without juggling paperwork or third-party apps. The vision: give creators more time for creativity and less worry about legalities, while offering a data-privacy-first alternative to the US e-sign giants that dominate the market.

MEDIACATCH

MediaCatch joins the line-up with a presentation of TRNDSET.comits brand-new AI-powered trend platform for professionals in marketing, social media and content production. TRNDSET monitors millions of data points across channels in real time, spots emerging trends—before they go viral—and turns them into ready-to-use ideas, hashtags and visual examples that teams can deploy right away. The platform keeps brands relevant, reduces creative fatigue and slashes the hours normally spent on manual research. Immediately after the session, attendees will get an exclusive chance to access and try the platform for themselves.

DUCKLING

Duckling demonstrates how journalism can stay relevant for the next generation. Inside their app, social-media formats blend with documentary storytelling in short “social documentary” stories that mix video, text, audio and images. The goal is a safe, meaningful community where young people find their voice and grow wiser in the process. Schools can subscribe to Duckling as a digital school newspaper, while parents gain a healthy alternative to commercial social platforms. Users own their data, and the algorithm also surfaces stories they might disagree with—strengthening democratic dialogue. The app was created by two journalists in close collaboration with thousands of young people and is backed by the Danish Innovation Fund, the Ministry of Culture and private investors. At the event, Duckling will share how they plan to expand the platform and empower even more youths to tell authentic stories.
